Stairs and elevators
A third floor walk up in an older Wichita building takes longer than the same load into a ground floor unit, and we price it honestly rather than surprising you at the end of the day.
Buildings with a freight elevator usually need a reservation, and sometimes a certificate of insurance from the mover. Ask the leasing office two weeks ahead and pass the requirements to us so nothing holds up the day.
Parking and loading zones
Some complexes have a marked loading zone right by the entrance. Others expect the truck in a regular parking spot, which means a longer carry from the truck to the door.
We check this ahead of time where we can, and on move day the crew brings extra dollies and hand trucks when the carry distance is longer than usual.
Move in and move out timing
Many Wichita apartment communities set specific windows for moving, often on weekdays during business hours, which can be inconvenient if you work a normal schedule. We plan around those windows rather than showing up and hoping.
If your old and new places are both apartments, we sequence the day so the truck is not sitting half loaded outside either building longer than it has to be.
Protecting the building
Hallway corners, elevator interiors, and door frames get padded before anything is carried through them. Property managers notice this, and it is also the reason we do not get flagged for damage deposits.
If a building requires floor protection in common areas, we bring it as standard rather than treating it as an add on.
Working with leasing offices
Most leasing offices in Wichita will ask for a certificate of insurance before allowing a moving crew onto the property, and some require it a set number of days ahead rather than the morning of the move.
We keep this paperwork ready and send it over as soon as you give us the building name, so it does not become the thing holding up your move date at the last minute.
