What counts as a local move
Anything inside Wichita and the towns around it, including Derby, Andover, Maize, Goddard, Haysville, Bel Aire, and Park City, is priced as a local move by the hour. The crew size and truck size are matched to what is actually in the home rather than a guess based on the number of bedrooms.
A one bedroom apartment near Delano might need two movers and a smaller truck. A four bedroom house on the east side usually calls for a bigger crew and a full size truck so the whole load fits in one trip.
How the day is planned
Before the truck backs in, we walk the house with you, note anything heavy or awkward, and figure out the order things come out in. Furniture gets padded and wrapped, door frames get protected, and runners go down on hard floors.
Kansas weather is part of the plan too. On a windy day, lighter boxes and anything with a flat surface that could catch a gust get loaded early and secured rather than left staged in the yard.
At the new address, everything goes to the room you name. Beds get reassembled and boxes are set where they belong instead of stacked in the garage.
Neighborhoods we know
College Hill, Riverside, and Delano each have their own mix of older homes, narrow streets, and mature trees that can make truck access tighter than a new subdivision. We check the block ahead of time so nobody discovers a low branch or a tight turn with a full truck already loaded.
Newer construction on the east and west sides of Wichita tends to have wider driveways and easier parking, which usually means a faster load.
Small moves are welcome
Not every job is a full house. We regularly move a single piece of furniture across town, shuttle a few boxes into a storage unit near Kellogg Avenue, or help someone move out of a dorm before a semester ends.
